Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients. On ED behavioral holds, ratios may increase to 7:1. Technicians are available to assist in the cardiac monitoring unit and internal processing area. Staff also includes unit clerks for day and night shifts. Key equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors. The documentation system used is Cerner. Scheduling requires availability for every other weekend. Candidates must be open to floating within all sections of the Emergency Department. Patient experience standards require AIDET, respectful behavior, and clear communication with patients throughout their visit. The department is known for teamwork and a welcoming atmosphere.
