Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating coverage across all days of the week, every-other-weekend (EOW) and holidays as scheduled

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care in the Emergency Room and Med/Surg swing setting
  • Rapidly assess and stabilize patients presenting with emergency conditions, including trauma and STEMI/stroke activations
  • Interpret cardiac monitoring strips and manage telemetry patients independently
  • Document clinical care and assessments accurately in PointClickCare (PCC)
  • Collaborate closely with ED physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Float to Med/Surg and swing bed units as needed and manage mixed-acuity patients
  • Follow established trauma, STEMI receiving, and stroke protocols to ensure timely, guideline-driven care
Qualifications
  • Active RN license eligible for practice in Minnesota (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience plus prior Med/Surg experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS and TNCC required; PALS preferred
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting cardiac strips and working without dedicated telemetry techs
  • Familiarity with Mindray monitors and PointClickCare (PCC) charting system is a plus
  • Willingness to comply with facility radius and affiliation rules (no recent CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity affiliation within the past year)
  • Ability to complete a 12-hour unit-specific orientation and work rotating shifts including EOW
Education
  • Active RN license in good standing (required)
  • BSN not required (BSN preferred but not mandatory)
Knowledge & Skills
  • Trauma Level IV assessment and stabilization practices
  • STEMI receiving and acute stroke workflow knowledge (NIHSS competency)
  • Cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry monitoring
  • Strong emergency assessment, triage judgment, and prioritization abilities
  • PointClickCare (PCC) electronic charting proficiency
  • Hands-on experience with Mindray telemetry/monitoring systems
  • Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced ED environments
