Description:
The position requires dealing with a wide range of emergencies.
This facility includes a comprehensive emergency department with separate triage and holding areas.
RNs manage their own patient holds if they are long-term, while support from other units may be available.
There are 55 total beds along with 8-12 swing beds and 4 trauma bays.
The average daily patient volume is approximately 250.
Ratios are 4:1 for the main emergency department and 5:1 for fast track, with critical care at 2:1.
Common diagnoses include STEMI, Stroke, DKA, Sepsis, Trauma, Respiratory Diseases, and Behavioral Health.
Registered nurses will perform necessary procedures such as drawing ABGs and setting up small dose breathing treatments.
Transport of critical patients may be required.
Comprehensive patient care is expected, including monitoring and assistance from technical staff.
Weekend and holiday requirements exist, with every other weekend expected.
A dress code of royal blue scrubs is enforced.
Shifts are variable, with a focus on evening and overnight hours.
