Job Title: RN - ER Profession: RN Specialty: RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience License: Required RN licensure in the state of practice Certifications: Required certifications including CPR or BLS, ACLS, AHA-PALS, CPI or TEAM, and NIHSS Must-Have: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS or HS-BLS or RQI BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA-PALS), Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and independent judgment. Collects relevant data pertinent to patient health or situations. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies expected outcomes for patients. Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing care in a safe and humane environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients and their family members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment teams. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Complies with all organizational requirements, including vaccinations. This department provides triage, treatment, and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. Moderate Sedation Training is required.
