Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years preferred; 3 years required License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS Must-Have: - EKG exam passing required - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required - Level I trauma experience preferred Description: The position requires a registered nurse in the emergency room specialty. The nurse will work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. The standard patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1, with occasional flexibility to 5:1. Experience in a Level I trauma center is highly valued. Weekend shifts will be required on an every-other-weekend basis. The role may entail working with a diverse patient population across all age groups. Clinical skills required include management of critical cases and emergency medications. Familiarity with charting systems, specifically EPIC, is essential. Travel experience will be considered an asset. This role involves providing care for patients with varying acuity levels. The nurse will have responsibilities that may cover different patient categories within the emergency department. A background in managing psychological emergencies and understanding stroke protocols is beneficial. Flexibility to work in high-acuity areas is necessary.
