Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Afternoons 12:45 PM - 12:45 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 24 months of current emergency room experience required License: Active Iowa license or compact/multi-state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required; De-Escalation Certificate preferred; NIH Stroke Scale certificate nice to have Must-Have: - Minimum of 24 months of recent emergency room experience - Recent travel experience - EPIC EMR experience - All certificates must be active, including BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC - Work history/resume must reflect relevant emergency department experience - Skills Checklist must be specific to emergency department nursing - Professional reference from a supervisor or manager within the last 24 months required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room. The nurse will conduct clinician interviews with candidates. The nurse is required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays unless otherwise scheduled. The nurse will manage critical drips and ensure patient care in a high-stress environment. The nurse will be part of a team caring for patients with varying levels of acuity. The nurse must demonstrate effective communication skills and work well under pressure. A De-Escalation Certificate is preferred and can be obtained during onboarding. A NIH Stroke Scale certificate is a nice-to-have and can also be obtained during onboarding. Teamwork and collaboration with other healthcare professionals are essential for success in this role.
