Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR) - Travel
Job Summary
Join the dedicated surgical team at Valley View Hospital, a Level III trauma center located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This facility is equipped with four state-of-the-art surgical suites, with a fifth currently under construction, supporting a high volume and diverse range of procedures.
As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will provide expert intraoperative nursing care, functioning as a circulating and/or scrub nurse. The role involves supporting a broad spectrum of surgical specialties, including advanced robotic-assisted procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety throughout the perioperative phase.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures.
Perform duties as a circulating nurse, managing the operating room environment, patient advocacy, and documentation.
Potentially perform duties as a scrub nurse, assisting surgeons directly with instrumentation and sterile field management.
Assist with a wide range of surgical specialties including General, Ophthalmic, Orthopedic, Brain/Spine, OB-GYN, ENT, Neurological, Plastic, Urological, Pediatric, and Orthopedic/Spine Trauma cases.
Operate and assist with advanced robotic surgical systems such as Exactech, Mako, Stealth, and DaVinci.
Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique, infection control policies, and patient safety protocols.
Monitor patient physiological status and respond to emergent situations during surgery.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Proficiency in perioperative nursing principles and practices.
Demonstrated expertise in circulating and/or scrubbing for complex surgical procedures.
Experience with various surgical specialties including General, Ophthalmic, Orthopedic, Brain/Spine, OB-GYN, ENT, Neurological, Plastic, Urological, Pediatric, and Orthopedic/Spine Trauma.
Competence in operating and assisting with robotic surgical platforms (e.g., Exactech, Mako, Stealth, DaVinci).
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.

Shift Details
Shift Type: Night (NOC)
Shift Duration: 8 hours per shift
Days per Week: 5 days
Call Requirements: Rotating evening, night, and weekend call. Generally, one (1) call weekend (Friday 1900 - Monday 0700) and 4-5 weeknight call shifts (1900 - 0700) per 8-week scheduling period.
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: August 11, 2026
Licensing Requirements
Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado or a Compact RN license in good standing.
