Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) in St Johnsbury, Vermont, is seeking an experienced Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join its dynamic Emergency Department. As a rural critical access hospital, NVRH's ED is a busy 9-bed unit, currently undergoing expansion, and serves over 15,000 patients annually, providing comprehensive emergency services to the community.
In this fast-paced environment, the ED RN provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate medical and nursing management. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team member, adept at quick learning, and capable of performing effectively under pressure to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
Assess patient conditions, evaluate outcomes, and adjust nursing care processes as indicated.
Consult with other medical specialties to ensure comprehensive patient management.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members.
Coordinate medical and nursing aspects of patient care, ensuring continuity and quality.
Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
Act as a proactive and adaptable team member within a busy ED setting.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of recent, acute care Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse experience.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Preferred Qualifications
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
