Description:
We are currently a small emergency unit in a critical access hospital.
We require nurses to work 3x12 hour shifts only.
Local candidates are not accepted.
Candidates must prepare to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
An understanding of general emergency department procedures is essential.
Nurses will manage cardiac monitoring and emergency responses, including the interpretation of dysrhythmias.
IV therapy and phlebotomy are required skills, including blood product administration and central line care.
Experience with medications, such as continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors, is necessary.
Candidates should be adept in managing neurological patients and understand isolation precautions and triage.
Additional skills include starting & maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, and procedural sedation administration.
Nurses will encounter a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Daily census and case types will vary, and familiarity with general emergency procedures is important.
All candidates must provide 2 supervisor references.
Travelers must comply with specific eligibility requirements, including a reset period for prior employment.
