Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $2,199 per week in New London, CT

Job Title: Psychiatric ED Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI, PALS, TNCC required Must-Have: Epic charting experience required Description: RNs must be cross-trained as both ED psych and main ED nurses. Nurses will be scheduled in the psych area but may float to the main ED if volumes are low. Nurses may float to standard ED based on scheduling and department needs. Nurses will work every other weekend and will see patients with a variety of medical and psychiatric conditions across all ages. Candidates must have experience with charting in Epic. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required for this role. The facility is a short-term acute care center and a Level III trauma center. This unit has a total of 252 staffed beds and typically sees around 20 visits per day. The nursing staff will manage a variety of patient diagnoses including abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma, and more. Nurses must be adept in managing acute medical conditions and psychiatric emergencies. Skills include management of violent behavior, patient stabilization, and a range of emergency treatments. The environment is interdisciplinary, collaborating with teams from physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. Nurses are expected to provide care for neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. This position requires strong clinical skills in an emergency setting and a commitment to patient-centered care.
