TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in York, Pennsylvania, 17403!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - PALS - NIHSS (preferred) - TNCC (preferred) Must-Have: Level I Trauma experience required Description: Schedule requirements include shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Weekends and holidays as needed. Floating to Emergency Transitional Care Unit may be required. Level I Trauma experience is required. Candidates must possess ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications. Candidates will undergo a clinical review to determine fit. If clinically approved, candidates will meet with the manager for a final decision. First-time travelers are not accepted. Request time off must be minimized to a maximum of 7 days. Staff are required to work every third weekend and on holidays as needed. Floating may be required; employees may rotate to other units. Emergency Department is a 74-bed department with a 3-bed trauma bay. There are secure units for behavioral health patients. The Emergency Transitional Care Unit is an area designated for patients awaiting inpatient beds or consultations. This unit is not for express admission or extended hold purposes. Candidates may care for COVID patients. The facility is tobacco and fragrance-free. Candidates should have experience managing a variety of emergency situations, including but not limited to: - Abdominal pain - Acute psychosis - Arterial line management - Asthma - BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood product administration - Burns - Care of ventilated patients - Central line care and management - Chest tube management - Continuous IV sedation and paralytics - Management of cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) - Drug overdoses - Emergency medications administration - Head injuries - Infection control and isolation precautions - Intubation - Management of dysrhythmias - Phlebotomy - Seizures - Triage - Urinary tract infections The unit sees a diverse patient population including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily patient census averages approximately 260 visits. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various specialty teams. Candidates should be prepared to complete an EKG exam within 72 hours of signing the contract. Training modules are required prior to the start date and typically take 5-6 hours to complete.
