Description:
This position requires the management of patients in a busy emergency room setting.
The average number of patients treated in the emergency room per day is approximately 66.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are maintained at 1:4.
Clinical profiles include common diagnoses such as stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, and psychosis.
Experience with critical and behavioral health patients is essential.
Travelers may be allowed to triage, provided they have the necessary experience.
Emergency room holds are intermixed with other patient care areas.
There are designated rooms for psychiatric patients.
In-house security is available 24/7 for the safety of patients and staff.
RNs are responsible for drawing labs, with support from phlebotomy if needed.
Transport for imaging studies occurs within the emergency room department.
The emergency room utilizes Phillips monitors for telemetry.
Respiratory therapy is available on-call, with some procedures performed by RNs.
Shifts are typically consistent, with every other weekend and holiday shifts required.
A collaborative and respectful team environment is fostered, conducive to ongoing traveler support.
The opportunity for shift extensions is common among travelers.
A cancellation policy is in effect, permitting common shift cancellations during the assignment.
