Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $2,214 per week in Pendleton, OR

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Day, Evening Shift will be either 10:00-22:00 or 13:00-01:00; Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Independent thinker, self-motivated, 2-3 years of experience Description: Unit notes include the ability to apply for the 90 OR Emergency License. The unit operates with 11 beds/trauma bays. There is no fast track available. There is not a separate triage area; travelers will do quick triage until the direct bed is full. There is no separate holding area; ER holds are intermixed within the ER. ER RNs manage their own ER holds and perform all tasks within the ER. There are separate rooms available for psych/seclusion. In-house security is present. The unit sees approximately 37 patients per day. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3-4. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC. Common diagnoses and types of patients include emergencies. Emergency department physicians and mid-level providers will work 12-hour shifts. The charge nurse functions as the triage RN during half of the day. Nurse aides, paramedics, and patient sitters are occasionally available. The electronic medical record system is MEDITECH. Registered nurses read strips, and RNs handle all tasks in the ER. Imaging departments are located next to the ER for X-ray or CT services. ER registered nurses perform phlebotomy. Shifts include 07:00-19:00, 10:00-22:00, 13:00-01:00, and 19:00-07:00. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. There is a holiday requirement unless specified in the signed contract. Call is rarely required. Floating is optional, usually not for emergency room shifts. Scrub color is navy blue. There will be unit-specific orientation provided. The trauma level is 4, and the unit is adjacent to a major interstate.
