Manitowoc - ED 12 bed unit, often using hallway beds (staffing night shift with 5RN's & 1 paramedic until 2300 then drops to 4 RN's and 1 paramedic at 0100, from 0100-0700 staff with 3 RN's and paramedic.

General Information: Beds: 12 (including Triage)
Experience- 2 years
First-time traveler- Upon Review
Patient Types: Neonates to geriatrics, various types of illnesses, majority of patients are adults
Patient Ratios: 1-5, up to 6 rarely (acuity based)
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, De-escalation training (MOAB or CPI)
Skills required : General ED skillset, chest tubes, drips, IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, cardiac rhythm interpretation
Support on the Unit:
- CNA (Ratio – 1:12)
- Charge nurse: does this person have patient load: No titled Charge RN in the ED
- Phlebotomy team: ED RN s will perform phlebotomy at the bedside
- Resource Nurse, Lead RN functions as a resource
- RT – in house 24/7: Yes
- Hospitalist – in house 24/7: Yes
- Bedside and Nursing station telemetry – no tele tech
Charting System/Equipment:
- Epic
- Client monitors
- Alaris

Orientation: 1 shift on the unit to learn the flow
