Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in a dynamic surgical unit located on the ground floor of a leading facility in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with a strong background in diverse surgical specialties who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will provide expert perioperative nursing care for a varied patient population undergoing complex procedures. This assignment requires a commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and clinical excellence, working primarily Monday through Friday on day shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures, including scrubbing and circulating duties as assigned.
• Monitor the patient's condition, vital signs, and surgical site throughout the perioperative phase.
• Ensure strict adherence to aseptic technique and maintain a sterile environment.
• Document all aspects of patient care, interventions, and surgical events accurately and thoroughly.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education and support.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as an Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility location.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Skills & Competencies

• Clinical Expertise: Proficient in a wide range of surgical specialties including Robotics, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Gynecology.
• Technical Skills: Aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, patient monitoring.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Days per Week: 5
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Assignment Dates: September 14, 2026 - January 2, 2027
• Holiday Expectations: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) during the assignment period.

Licensing Requirements

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
