Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 1845-0715 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two (2) years current experience in a large emergency department required; must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. License: State Nursing License or Compact State Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required Must-Have: Must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test prior to starting assignment. Candidates will have one opportunity to re-test if they fail. A second failure will result in contract cancellation and applicable fees. Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient and healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by a physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. Completes patient population, age-specific, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards. Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment. Epic experience preferred but not required; training will be provided on-site.
