We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week travel assignment at the Cecile J. Coulomb Emergency Center in Lewiston, Maine. This facility provides a full spectrum of emergency care, including a specialized Chest Pain Center, serving a diverse patient population with urgent and critical needs.
The ER RN is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for delivering comprehensive direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process. Key responsibilities include assessing patients upon admission and throughout their stay, administering IV medications, therapy, and blood products, providing vital patient education, and meticulously documenting all nursing care actions, observations, and patient responses.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission and continuously monitor patient status throughout their emergency department stay.
Administer IV medications, therapies, and blood products accurately and safely as prescribed.
Provide comprehensive and clear patient education regarding conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
Document all nursing care actions, patient teaching, observations, and patient responses in accordance with facility standards.
Deliver direct and indirect patient care, utilizing the nursing process to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in an Emergency Department (ED) setting.
Must not have been a previous employee of St. Mary's.
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and maintain a clear professional license.
