As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse, you will provide professional, independent nursing care to individuals of all ages and their families. The facility offers a wide range of services including emergency, dental, ophthalmology, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery, and urological procedures, with approximately 49% of surgeries performed on an outpatient basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, age-appropriate nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Conduct rapid and thorough patient assessments, prioritize care based on acuity, and implement interventions for diverse medical and trauma conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Adhere strictly to established nursing standards of care, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Respond effectively to life-threatening situations and participate in resuscitation efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within one (1) year of hire.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification required within one (1) year of hire.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification required within one (1) year of hire.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within six (6) months of hire.
- Emergency Severity Index Level 5 competency required within three (3) months of hire.
- Patient Sitter Competency Training required upon hire.
- Ability to work independently in completing assignments.
