Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (10:30 - 23:00) Experience: 3 years experience required; travel experience required but will consider first-time traveler with 5+ years experience License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI, TNCC Must-Have: EPIC charting system experience required Previous charge experience preferred Travel experience required Description: The position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse. The role requires caring for patients across all age groups. Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, and respiratory illness. The nurse will work a patient ratio of 1:4, and up to 5 with a lower acuity patient group. The average daily census is 140 patients, within a unit of 46 beds. Float is required within the specialty as needed. Weekends every other weekend are required. Holidays may be required as scheduled. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various departments. Special equipment utilized includes Belmont in trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, and Rapid infuser. Successful candidates will be skilled in various emergency procedures and patient management techniques. Candidates must be comfortable floating within the hospital without restrictions or special requests. References will be needed from recent employers, with preferences for supervisory roles. It is important that the candidates maintain flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
