Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $2,326 per week in Keyser, WV

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Yes Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: Valid Driver's License Description: This position is for the Emergency Room. The unit has 8 beds with 2 additional stretchers for hallway beds, accommodating a maximum of 10 beds. There is a Fast Track/Triage room available. The unit includes one psych/seclusion room that can be used as needed. Average patient volume is around 30 patients per day, with a maximum of up to 50 patients depending on the day. Staffing ratios are 1:4, with 2 RNs available 24/7 and a third RN in Triage from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Unit leadership includes a Unit Director/Manager and a Unit Coordinator available during the week. Nurse Administrators are on call 24/7, along with House Supervisors on weekends. ER Technicians assist with duties such as EKGs, vital signs, wound care, crutches, and patient transport. Plans are in place to expand the ER Tech's scope of practice. Security measures are being enhanced with new personnel coverage. Weekend work includes every-other-weekend shifts. Holidays follow a set rotation, with staff required to be flexible. Scrubs are provided, with no specific color requirement. The unit has Phillips hard-wired and portable monitoring systems. Ventilation equipment includes 6 vents, along with Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow options. Emergency Physicians and Mid-Levels are present during the day for support. Phlebotomy services are available as needed. There is no dedicated IV team; respiratory therapy is on-site 24/7. Pharmacy services operate 24/7 with in-house support during the day. Shifts typically run from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. Floating to other units is not common unless qualified and agreed upon. Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts based on experience. Common diagnoses include mild to severe conditions, with specific protocols for serious cases. Emergency Medical Services are responsive, ensuring timely patient intake.
