License: Current state RN License in good standing required. Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association) required. Must-Have: EPIC experience; at least trauma level 2 experience or higher. Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the institution's philosophy. Essential functions include performing all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service. The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided is essential to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Completing an initial assessment upon patient admission and developing an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards based on patient and family needs is required. The RN implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifying the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation is necessary. Taking responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents is expected. Effective communication with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues is essential. Offering constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers is important. The RN confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base. Identifying personal learning needs and taking the initiative to begin appropriate solutions are vital to professional growth. Fulfilling all requirements of departmental competencies is expected. Department specific job functions include implementing procedures and theories specific to emergency department nursing. Performing patient assessments and developing care plans in collaboration with providers, families, and patients is necessary.
