Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Day, Evening Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred Must-Have: - Minimum two years of Emergency Room experience with trauma Level I and II in the past two years. - Epic EMR proficiency required within the last five years. - No more than five days of time off requests. - Ratios: 1:5 medical, 1:6 for fast track. - Trauma Level: Level 3 trauma. Description: Required to read own telemetry and also have monitor tech available. Emergency department treats an average of 200 patients per day. There are 52 beds with four trauma bays. Common diagnoses include any and all emergency needs. ICU drips are managed for holding patients with ICU support when available. Dedicated CT and X-ray services are available within the emergency department. ED techs will perform lab draws, and RNs can draw from IV starts. Varied shifts for MDs and mid-level providers are scheduled. Charge nurses are not present, but assistance from a house supervisor is available if needed. Emergency techs are required to have two years of experience for EKG, vitals, blood draws, and splinting. Respiratory therapists are available 24/7 for treatments, vents, and necessary procedures. X-ray and CT are accessible in the emergency department, accompanied by a transport team for critical patients. Nurse aids and patient sitters will be available on each shift. Four weekend shifts are required every four-week block, with two holiday shifts typically required. Scrub color is navy blue. There will be one day of clinical training and one day on the floor.
