Emergency Department Registered Nurse (Nights)

Job Summary

Join a dynamic Emergency Department team in Elmira, New York, as a Night Shift Registered Nurse. This role is based in a large, 48-treatment space ED, providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population experiencing acute illnesses and injuries.

The successful candidate will be an experienced professional adept at managing critical situations, performing rapid assessments, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in patient stabilization and treatment during the overnight hours, maintaining a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for emergency patients.
  • Manage a patient load with a 1:5 patient-to-nurse ratio, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with procedures as per physician orders and hospital policy.
  • Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other physiological data.
  • Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records and documentation.
  • Ensure patient safety and adherence to all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department setting.
