Job Title: Staff Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Rotational Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2+ years Emergency Department experience required License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: EPIC Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN prevents illness and injury and alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a critical aspect of this role. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This includes adherence to relevant regulations and policies. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The RN manages a group of patients while serving as a primary or accountable nurse according to unit assignments. Patient and family education in health promotion and disease management is essential. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications. Participation in productivity and effective resource utilization is expected. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. Engagement in professional development and continuing education is essential. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students is key. The RN may perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties as assigned. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
