Description:
The position involves working in a high-acuity emergency department.
The average daily census is approximately 105 patients.
The role includes caring for a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
Travelers will cover the Observation Unit, caring for ER hold patients.
The expected patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1.
The department utilizes a charting system, and experience with this system is preferred.
Travelers must be willing to work 3 out of 6 weekends and related holiday shifts.
No prints allowed on scrubs; individuals can wear their own solid color scrubs.
The shift requires significant emergency nursing skills, including management of acute conditions, procedural sedation, and triage.
Essential skills include advanced airway management, IV administration, and the ability to handle emergency medications and interventions.
Interdisciplinary support is available from various health professionals, including physical therapy and respiratory services.
Travelers must provide references from previous employment to verify qualifications.
