Description:
Unit consists of 32 beds and 6 treatment chairs.
Fast track area includes 4 beds.
Patients seen per day averages 208, with a peak of 317 during busy times.
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 to 4, with 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 for ICU status.
Electronic Medical Record system in use is Cerner.
Charge nurse positions available.
Assistant nurse manager present 24/7, not assigned patients.
Nurses are supported by ER technicians, CNAs, and EMTs.
CNA roles include patient sitters when needed, with security available in the lobby.
Weekend shifts are required every other week, and holidays are rotated among permanent staff.
Scrub color is navy.
Nurses must read and interpret telemetry strips.
Lab draws are not performed by nurses, and there is no IV team.
Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7.
Shifts may include 7-7, 11-11, and 3-3.
Floating may be required to another facility for ER duties.
Common cases include trauma, pediatrics, strokes, and STEMIs.
Candidates must have 2 or more years of experience, with a preference for those with travel experience.
The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment.
Nurses must be comfortable with patient assessment and care in an acute setting.
