Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $2,646 per week in Bakersfield, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of Emergency Room experience - Experience in triage - Significant experience in pediatric emergency care Description: Candidates must have experience with both pediatric and adult patients. The population is roughly 50% pediatric. Experience in triage is required. Emergency Room nurses will manage their own holds. The department sees approximately 325 visits per day. The Emergency Room includes adult and pediatric treatment areas. Common patient diagnoses range from minor walk-ins to critically ill cases. Conditions treated include respiratory failure, asthma, abdominal pain, fractures, and substance abuse. Travelers must be flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays. The unit utilizes a telemetry system and has access to various respiratory equipment. Phlebotomy services are available through nursing staff. RNs are responsible for reading telemetry strips. Interdisciplinary support includes physicians and mid-level providers. No call requirements exist, but staff may be placed on standby for low census. The dress code for Registered Nurses is navy blue scrubs. Hoodies and sweatshirts are not permitted. Travelers should be prepared to float to the pediatric emergency room as needed. The facility may cancel a limited number of shifts during each assignment.
