Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, and Nursery
Job Summary
North Country Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Newport, Vermont, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for its Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, and Nursery units. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers, new mothers, and newborns within a close-knit community hospital setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care across the continuum of maternal and infant services. This position requires flexibility to float to other units as needed, including providing care for overflow patients from the Progressive Care Unit, ensuring adaptability and a broad scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to laboring mothers, post-partum patients, and newborns.
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery.
Assist with deliveries and C-sections as needed.
Educate new mothers on infant care, breastfeeding, and post-partum recovery.
Perform newborn assessments and provide routine nursery care.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
Float to other units as needed, including caring for overflow from the Progressive Care Unit.
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, or Nursery.
Ability to float to other units and care for Progressive Care Unit overflow.
