Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $2,697 per week in Lisbon, ND

Job Title: ER/Medsurg/Swing RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of ER experience, must have charge experience License: License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - 1 year of ER experience - Charge nurse experience Description: The unit is a combined ER/Medsurg/Swing RN setting. The ER has a trauma level designation of critical access. There are 2 ER beds and 10 Medsurg beds. Nurse to patient ratios in the ER are 1:3-4. Medsurg ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Common diagnoses in the ER include traumas, strokes, STEMIs, chest pains, respiratory issues, and lacerations. Medsurg patients range from pediatrics to geriatrics with conditions such as pneumonia, UTIs, observation patients, and some short-term swing bed patients. Common medication drips include heparin and levophed. There is a charge nurse on each shift who takes an assignment. Nurse aides, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters are available in Medsurg with a ratio of 1:8. RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips themselves. Shifts run from 0630-1900 and 1830-0700. Self and team scheduling are allowed. Weekend requirements include every other weekend. Holiday requirements include every third holiday. Floating may occur between ER, Medsurg, and swing bed units. Successful nurses in this unit possess teamwork, communication skills, flexibility, the ability to work under pressure, and adaptability. RTO must be provided upfront for 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved after submissions. Client can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting is done using MEDITECH.
