Patients often require care for conditions such as STEMI, stroke, trauma, syncope, weakness, and falls. A strong emphasis is placed on patient experience and nursing excellence, ensuring high-quality care. The team consists of registered nurses, emergency room technicians, and support staff, all working collaboratively to provide patient care. Staff nurses are responsible for triaging ambulance patients at the bedside and managing a fast-paced workload. All nurses must demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and adaptability in this demanding setting. Professional appearance is required; scrubs of any color are acceptable, but denim is not permitted. Jewelry should be minimal and professional, and hair must be kept neat and tidy. The ability to work rotating shifts is necessary, with varied start times, and scheduling flexibility is expected. For patient care, advanced practice providers, like physician assistants, collaborate with nursing staff. Respiratory and anesthesia support is available 24/7. Unit procedures include performing phlebotomy, managing intravenous lines, and EKGs as needed.
