Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse at Valley View Hospital, a Level III trauma center located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care during the intraoperative phase for a diverse patient population across various surgical specialties. Our facility boasts 4 state-of-the-art surgical suites, with a fifth currently under construction, and integrates advanced robotic technologies to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Surgical RN, adept at circulating and potentially scrubbing, contributing to a high-performing surgical environment. You will play a critical role in supporting procedures ranging from general surgery and orthopedics to neurosurgery, OB-GYN, ENT, plastics, urology, and pediatric cases, including complex trauma.
This 13-week travel assignment offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic surgical department, utilizing cutting-edge equipment and collaborating with a skilled multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient safety and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert intraoperative nursing care, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
- Function as a circulating nurse, managing the sterile field, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgical teams across a broad spectrum of specialties including General, Eyes, Orthopedics, Brain/Spine, OB-GYN, ENT, Neuro, Plastics, Urology, and Pediatrics.
- Operate and support advanced surgical technologies, including robotic systems (Exactech, Mako, Stealth, DaVinci).
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Shift Details
- Primary Shift: Nights (NOC), 8 hours per shift, 5 days per week.
- Call Requirements: Rotating evening/night/weekend call. Generally, 1 call weekend (Friday 1900 - Monday 0700) and 4-5 weeknight call shifts (1900 - 0700) per 8-week scheduling period.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks.
- Start Date: September 29, 2026.
Licensing Requirements
- Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado or a Compact RN License in good standing.
