Must-Have:
Candidates must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year's Eve & New Year's Day.
Travelers should expect assignments to include admitted patients.
No local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be accepted.
Description:
The role requires active participation in patient assessment and care in a high-pressure environment.
Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department is admitted, and many of the rooms are designated for ED Holding.
The unit typically sees a daily census of 170-200 patients and handles a significant number of visits daily.
Responsibilities include medication administration, including IV medication administration via the seven medication rights, as well as documenting and communicating clinical findings.
Nurses are expected to float to various areas based on staffing needs, including adult patient care units and ED Holding.
Familiarity with trauma and resuscitation experience is preferred.
Bar code medication scanning is part of the expectations for all employees.
Travel experience is strongly preferred, but candidates with 1.5 to 2 years of level I trauma experience may be considered.
Weekend scheduling is expected, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday, including weekend nights from Friday to Sunday.
No call is required for this position.
The facility aims to maintain a 1:5 patient ratio during night shifts.
Candidates will be expected to ensure compliance with all necessary training and certifications throughout their employment.
Travelers must begin compliance within 1-2 weeks of signing the contract.
Candidates should prepare for a potential drug screening within 30 days of start.
