Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience, Level 1 trauma experience preferred License: New Mexico license can pend at the time of submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (TNCC must be obtained prior to submission) Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in an ED is required; Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred - Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day - COVID vaccine is optional, but reporting of COVID vaccine numbers is required - No locals within a 100-mile radius Description: Travelers should expect their assignments to consist primarily of admitted patients. Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department patients are admitted. Many of the ED rooms serve as "ED Holding". Medication administration, including IV medication, must adhere to the seven medication rights and require proper documentation. ED staffing ratios are 1:5. Weekend scheduling will be as needed, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Travelers can float to adult patient care units based on staffing needs. Floating to pediatric ED is optional. The ED is currently seeing an increased number of admit holds. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical. Clinical findings must be documented and communicated effectively. Bar Code Medication scanning is an expectation for all employees. No local candidates are accepted within a 100-mile radius. Prior travel experience is strongly preferred. Based on staffing needs, travelers will be expected to work in different areas as required. All travelers must be compliant with facility requirements prior to their start date.
