Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel
Job Summary
Join our dedicated Family Birth Place Team as a Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse at a leading regional hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This dynamic role involves providing comprehensive care across the full spectrum of obstetrics, including Labor & Delivery, Operating Room (for C-sections), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Postpartum units.
You will be an integral part of a compassionate team committed to evidence-based care, focusing on both maternal and neonatal health. The unit manages approximately 60 deliveries per month, with projections to increase to 80+ monthly, requiring skilled professionals ready to contribute to a growing service line. This position emphasizes couplet care for mothers and neonates from 32 weeks gestation and up.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert nursing care to laboring, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
Manage and assist with deliveries, including circulating and recovering patients in the OR and PACU for obstetric procedures.
Deliver comprehensive couplet care, ensuring the well-being of both mother and neonate (32 weeks gestation and older).
Perform thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
Monitor fetal heart rates, maternal vital signs, and progress of labor, escalating concerns as appropriate.
Administer medications, manage pain, and provide patient education on childbirth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities, overseeing unit operations and guiding staff as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care Labor & Delivery experience.
Prior RN Charge experience in a Labor & Delivery setting.
Demonstrated experience in L&D, OR (for C-sections), PACU, and Postpartum care.
Experience providing couplet care.
Ability to care for neonates 32 weeks gestation and up.

Shift Details
Shift Type: Night Shift (NOC)
Shift Duration: 12 hours
Days per Week: 3
Schedule: Rotating weekends required.
Call Requirements: Typically one 12-hour call shift every 6 weeks; subject to change based on unit needs.
Contract Length: 13 weeks.
Start Date: October 6, 2026.
Licensing Requirements
Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state license eligible to practice in Colorado.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
S.T.A.B.L.E. Program certification.
Current Flu Vaccine (required by October 2026).
