The successful candidate will manage the full spectrum of patient care from admission through discharge, including supporting expectant mothers during labor and delivery, facilitating immediate postpartum recovery, and providing essential care and education for new mothers and their newborns. Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to laboring mothers, including continuous fetal monitoring, medication administration, and assisting physicians during delivery.
Perform comprehensive postpartum assessments, manage pain, and monitor recovery for mothers following childbirth.
Deliver expert newborn care, including initial assessments, vital sign monitoring, feeding support, and identifying potential concerns.
Educate new parents on infant care, breastfeeding techniques, postpartum recovery, and discharge instructions.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
Respond promptly and effectively to obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Relevant experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother-Baby care.
Ability to work effectively and independently in a Critical Access Hospital setting.
