Join our dedicated healthcare team as an Ambulatory Registered Nurse in an outpatient clinic setting located in Sitka, Alaska. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to individuals and families across the continuum of care, ensuring high-quality outcomes and patient safety in a fast-paced environment.
The Ambulatory RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, administer medications and treatments, perform clinical procedures, and deliver essential patient education. You will collaborate closely with providers and an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, advocate for patients, and ensure adherence to clinical, regulatory, and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
Implement and evaluate nursing interventions, adjusting care based on patient responses and changes in condition.
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to provider orders and organizational policy.
Exercise independent nursing judgment to determine appropriate actions, interventions, and priorities, escalating care as needed.
Provide thorough patient and family education regarding care plans, medications, and discharge needs.
Deliver culturally responsive and patient-centered care, respecting diverse backgrounds and preferences.
Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity of services.
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
Advocate for patients and assist them in navigating the healthcare system effectively.
Practice within the nursing scope of practice, adhering to regulatory, safety, and infection prevention requirements.
Participate in quality and performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and clinic operations.
Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork within the clinical setting.
Provide appropriate guidance and delegation to ancillary staff members.
Support the orientation, mentoring, and education of staff, students, and peers.
Float to other departments or assignments as needed to support clinic operations.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Case Management certification.
