Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Albany, GA

Contract | Days | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 180–200 visits per day, serving a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4, performing independent lab draws and IV starts
• Care for a diverse case mix including trauma, CVA, orthopedic, and neurological presentations; support transfer coordination for cases requiring higher-level care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, NPs/PAs, paramedics/nurse aides, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and central monitoring techs
• Support patients in a 6-bed behavioral health lockdown area staffed by psychiatry, utilizing safety sitters and security resources as needed
• Document accurately using Meditech 6.15 EMR; complete unit-specific orientation within the first week of assignment

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of emergency room nursing experience
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR (version 6.15 preferred)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI certifications required
• Current ASLS or NIHSS certification required

• Experience working in a high-acuity, high-volume emergency department with trauma and stroke center capabilities
• Familiarity with ventilator management protocols and working alongside dedicated respiratory therapy teams
• Experience in a charge nurse capacity within an emergency department setting

• Work in a well-supported emergency department with 24/7 respiratory therapy, on-site pharmacy coverage, central monitoring technicians, and consistent provider coverage across all shifts
