Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation may apply

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a community hospital Emergency Department treating an average of 40–50 patients per day, ranging from minor injuries to major traumas, crush injuries, burns, STEMIs, and strokes
  • Mix and titrate critical drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Epinephrine, Insulin, and others independently
  • Read and interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs; manage respiratory equipment and assist with respiratory treatments
  • Maintain a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio across a 5-bed, 2-trauma-bay department with 1 dedicated triage nurse
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, ED Techs (CNAs), respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and a 24/7 in-house House Supervisor to ensure efficient patient throughput and flow
  • Assist with EMS coordination and support department flow; travelers are not required to serve in a charge nurse role
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of 5 years of Emergency Department experience
  • Trauma Level 1 or Level 2 ED experience accepted
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS
  • Demonstrated ability to independently mix and titrate critical drips
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility with scheduling, including willingness to help fill gaps in the permanent staff schedule
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with industrial or occupational trauma cases such as crush injuries, burns, and amputations
  • Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers also accepted)
  • Familiarity with a broad range of imaging modalities including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and MRI coordination
