Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care across a high-volume Emergency Department serving both adult and pediatric populations, with approximately 325 visits per day across both ERs
  • Manage a patient assignment including ER holds intermixed within the department, maintaining appropriate ratios (Adult 1:4, Peds 1:4, ICU 1:2, Procedural Sedation 1:1)
  • Perform and participate in triage functions as assigned, including working within fast track and lobby triage areas
  • Float between Adult ER and Pediatric ER as needed; some nurses will be assigned exclusively to one area or work both
  • Interpret EKG rhythms including basic and advanced interpretation per unit curriculum (STEMI and Procedural Sedation curricula assigned to critical care RNs)
  • Adhere to dress code requirements; navy blue scrubs required for RNs; no hoodies, sweatshirts, or sweat jackets permitted
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Must have experience with both adult and pediatric ER patient populations; candidates assigned to Pediatric ER must have significant pediatric ER experience, not general pediatric experience
  • Must have prior triage experience
  • Active RN license with applicable state authorization
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in a high-volume emergency department with patient volumes comparable to approximately 325 visits per day
  • Familiarity with Phillips telemetry monitoring systems
  • Experience with procedural sedation and STEMI or CVA patient populations
