Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Full-Time Hours (36 hrs/week) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency nursing care for patients of all ages, including management of traumas, strokes, STEMIs, cardiac arrests, and inpatient holds within the ED
  • Perform and assist with clinical procedures including IV insertion, EKG acquisition, procedural sedation, and suturing assistance
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and manage a caseload of 4–5 patients simultaneously based on acuity and staffing
  • Accurately document patient care using EPIC ASAP electronic charting system
  • Operate unit equipment including Philips monitors, Accudose medication dispensing systems, and Aleris infusion pumps
  • Float to Med-Surg unit on a rare, as-needed basis; work every other weekend and every other holiday
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
  • Current ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (Stroke), and BLS certifications required
  • Proficiency in patient assessment, IV placement, medication administration, and multi-patient management
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including days, nights, and mids (shift start times: 5:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 5:00 PM)
  • Must maintain organized, detail-oriented practice in a high-volume, fast-paced Level 2 Trauma Center environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience working in a high-volume emergency department (approximately 110 patients per 24-hour period)
  • Familiarity with EPIC ASAP charting platform
  • Experience in a Level 2 Trauma Center setting
