Key Responsibilities- Provide shift-level accountability for patient care in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively to the care team
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects with accuracy and attention to detail
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff, and provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel
- Accurately document patient care activities and maintain strong organizational practices
- Adhere to safety standards, infection control protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
- Ability to comply with New Mexico state fingerprinting requirements (note: fingerprint processing may take several weeks; submitting agency must be registered with the state of New Mexico)
- Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with MedHost (EDIS) a plus
- Availability to float and fulfill call requirements (must be available at least 2 hours prior to shift start)
Preferred Experience / Skills- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in an emergency department setting
