Job Title
Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Travel)
Hold shift accountability for providing care to Emergency Department patients utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of patient care in the Emergency Department
Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively to the care team
Administer medications proficiently and monitor for side effects
Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff; provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care while adhering to safety standards, infection control protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure valid in New Mexico
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
Must be registered with the State of New Mexico (fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers; process may take several weeks)
Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with MedHost (EDIS) a plus
Ability to float and fulfill call requirements (available at minimum 2 hours prior to shift start)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Prior experience in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department setting
Familiarity with a 4:1 patient ratio environment
