    Nurse Manager, GI Services

    Job Summary

    This leadership role is for a dedicated Nurse Manager to oversee Gastrointestinal (GI) Services at Enloe Medical Center in Chico, California. Reporting to the Director of Surgery Services, the Nurse Manager is responsible for fostering an environment that supports exceptional nursing practice and the delivery of high-quality patient care across a 24-hour operational scope.

    The successful candidate will manage the daily operations of GI Services, ensuring optimal staff performance, adherence to quality standards, and efficient resource utilization. This includes oversight of patient care for a diverse population ranging from pediatric to geriatric, financial management, human resources, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The role requires a blend of administrative leadership and clinical expertise, with the potential to provide direct patient care or serve as a Charge Nurse as needed.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead and manage the daily operations of GI Services, ensuring high-quality patient care delivery.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing practice standards and patient care protocols.
    • Monitor and ensure staff competency and adherence to departmental and organizational expectations.
    • Participate in budget development, financial management, and productivity target achievement.
    • Manage human resources, including staff development, performance evaluations, and progressive discipline.
    • Drive continuous quality improvement processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Act as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and the patient care team to resolve issues.
    • Develop and update policies, practices, and procedures in alignment with professional and regulatory standards.
    • Provide age-specific care considering the physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
    • Conduct nursing assessments, plan multidisciplinary patient care, and implement interventions safely and competently.
    • Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary to improve results.
    • Educate patients and families on care plans and health management.
    • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
    Required Qualifications
    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
    • Five (5) years of cumulative experience in Gastrointestinal (GI) nursing.
    • One (1) year of supervisory experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
    • Two (2) years of Critical Care experience.
    • Membership in a professional organization related to nursing or healthcare management.
    • Certified Gastrointestinal Registered Nurse (CGRN).
