Key Responsibilities
Provide emergency nursing care within a high-volume ED environment seeing approximately 350 patients per day across a large department with over 70 rooms and additional hallway spaces
Deliver care aligned with stroke, STEMI, and trauma center protocols in a Level I trauma center setting
Medically clear patients as appropriate, including suicidal patients utilizing sitters; no psychiatric holds are maintained in the ED
Manage both acute and non-acute patient populations, with non-acute patients seen on a designated non-acute side of the ED (no separate fast track area)
Fulfill on-call obligations of 1–2 shifts per schedule period
Float as needed to offsite ED locations in the surrounding area, including a smaller facility with 10 beds (~40 patients/day) and another with 7 beds (~25 patients/day)
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
Experience at a Level I or Level II trauma center required
Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and CPI certifications required
Availability to work 1 major and 1 minor holiday per contract period
Willingness to take 1–2 on-call shifts per schedule and float to offsite ED locations
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with EPIC electronic health records system strongly preferred
Previous travel nursing experience preferred
