Provide direct patient care to Emergency Department patients utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in the anticipation and planning for safe patient care delivery within the Emergency Department
Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and professional development
Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff
Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in Alabama (no encumbrances)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Minimum 1–2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) system
Prior travel nursing experience in an Emergency Department setting
