Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend and Holiday
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and plans of care, including triage protocols upon patient arrival and ongoing reassessment throughout the care continuum.
Safely administer medications, intravenous therapy, vasoactive medications, and thrombolytic/anticoagulation therapy in accordance with physician orders, protocols, and established policies and procedures.
Perform accurate and timely identification of cardiac arrhythmias; interpret arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, and clinical indicators of impaired gas exchange.
Identify patients at risk for abuse or violent behavior and initiate appropriate safety plans, mandated reporting, and non-violent intervention protocols as required.
Provide thorough and accurate documentation of assessments, therapeutic interventions, patient responses, medication reconciliation, and forensic evidence collection per policy.
Collaborate with the health care team to plan and prepare patients and families for discharge, ensuring continuity of care and integration of support resources.
Required Qualifications
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
Preferred Experience / Skills
3–5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience preferred.
