Contract | Full-Time | 36 hours/week | Days or Nights
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing care including observing and recording signs and symptoms, administering sterile treatments, and assisting with patient rehabilitation according to medical and nursing plans
Prepare, administer, and document oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications using barcode scanning within an electronic health system; monitor and discontinue IV lines as appropriate
Provide nursing care across multiple units including Emergency Room, Med/Surg, Labor/Delivery/Recovery, and Nursery, assuming responsibility for total patient care when assigned
Observe and provide care to obstetrical patients through labor, delivery, and post-partum stages, as well as newborn care, following demonstration of competence
Participate in nursing care planning, quality assurance programs, in-service education, committee work, and staff orientation and training
Observe, record, and report patient conditions to appropriate personnel; maintain accurate and complete patient records and transcribe physician orders
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current, valid state Registered Nurse license
Current CPR certification required
Current ACLS certification required
Current TNCC certification required
Current NRP certification required
Current STABLE certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a combined Med/Surg and Emergency Room setting
Familiarity with obstetrical and newborn patient care
Proficiency with electronic health record systems including barcode medication administration
Strong communication skills and ability to provide leadership in medical situations in the absence of a physician
