    Registered Nurse, Breast and Cervical Care Management

    Job Summary

    Join a dedicated healthcare team in Juneau, Alaska, focused on delivering comprehensive care within a non-profit health consortium. This role is central to providing specialized care management for patients engaged in breast and cervical cancer prevention, screening, and diagnostic services.

    The Registered Nurse will utilize the full nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring high-quality, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered services. This position requires close collaboration with providers, radiology, the broader healthcare team, and Community Wellness initiatives to promote optimal patient outcomes and safety.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care for breast and cervical cancer prevention, screening, and diagnostic services.
    • Implement and evaluate nursing interventions, administering medications and treatments safely and accurately.
    • Monitor patient conditions, recognize significant changes, and initiate appropriate interventions or escalation of care.
    • Provide essential patient and family education regarding care plans, medications, and discharge needs.
    • Exercise independent nursing judgment and critical thinking to determine appropriate nursing actions, interventions, and priorities, identifying when consultation or escalation is required.
    • Collaborate effectively with providers and interdisciplinary team members, including radiology and Community Wellness, to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity of services.
    • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
    • Advocate for patients and assist them in navigating the healthcare system.
    • Adhere to nursing scope of practice, regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and infection prevention standards.
    • Participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
    • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork, including providing guidance to ancillary staff and supporting peer education.
    • May float to other departments or assignments as needed.
    Required Qualifications
    • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
    • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alaska.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
    • Case Management certification within two (2) years of hire.
    • Completion of Clinical Competency Assessment within three (3) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
    • Completion of High Risk Competency within three (3) months of hire and annually thereafter.
