Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Rapid Response)

Location

Kansas City, MO | Acute Care – Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 48 hours/week | 6-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 38-bed Emergency Department encompassing Rapid, Main, and POD 3 (psych-safe) areas
• Operate and monitor unit equipment including ventilators, BiPAP, EKG, arterial lines, Belmont rapid infuser, and chest tubes
• Perform procedures including port placement and chest tube management
• Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate and timely documentation
• Apply de-escalation techniques and prioritization skills in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including a minimum of 4 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays per 4-week schedule, plus 2 major and 2 minor holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS certification required – must be included in submission packet
• BLS certification required – must be included in submission packet
• TNCC certification required – must be included in submission packet
• ENPC certification required – must be included in submission packet
• No time-off requests or special scheduling accommodations can be accommodated for this assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training or equivalent de-escalation coursework
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize in a high-acuity environment
• Experience working as a collaborative team player in an emergency department setting
• Patient-focused, detail-oriented, and coachable approach to care delivery
