Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department

Key Responsibilities- Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages (neonates to elderly), managing ESI levels 1–5 with an average patient ratio of 4–5:1
- Perform and assist with clinical skills including PIV placement, NG/OG tube insertion, foley catheterization, wound care, splinting/OCL application, and assist with arterial line, central line, and chest tube placement
- Rapidly triage and assess patients presenting with stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis in a Level III Trauma Center, ACC Chest Pain/STEMI Center, and Joint Commission Acute Ready Stroke Center
- Ensure accurate and compliant completion of EMTALA paperwork in accordance with regulatory guidelines and facility policy
- Board and monitor psychiatric patients in the ED pending placement; on nights and weekends, make calls to facilitate psych patient placement
- Float to other departments as needed within the standard rotation; participate in precepting staff as requested over time
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency with triage, PIV, port access/deaccess, foley placement, NG/OG placement, wound care, and splint/OCL application
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and function within a team-oriented department
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with ultrasound-guided IV placement
- Prior experience as a preceptor or charge nurse in an emergency department setting
- Familiarity with MEDHOST EDIS EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
